HAI Services
Water Resources
Finding water resources for current uses, as well as protecting sourcewater for future uses, are large aspects of the services offered by HAI. Our Water Resources team offers a combined wealth of expertise in water resource protection and development. Professional training and certifications includes geology, seismology, hydrogeology, and engineering. Other experiences include testing, mapping, monitoring, mitigation, modeling, location, replacement, and design and development of water resources. Members of our staff are also Maine licensed water system operators.
Wastewater
HAI’s staff members are fully equipped for the special requirements of sensitive wastewater discharge, monitoring, and treatment, and employ state-of-the-art techniques to complete comprehensive wastewater system designs and management plans. Professional expertise includes designing lagoons for treating wastewater and designing spray irrigation systems for recycling wastewater; providing permitting assistance and compliance monitoring; simulation and analysis of wastershed impacts; waste management and recycling plans, and much more.
Stormwater
HAI's Stormwater department embodies extensive experience in stormwater system design and management, making HAI a leading expert in stormwater solutions. Professional team-member capabilities include environmental and civil engineering; geomorphology surveys, nutrient management plans, and watershed analyses; stormwater modeling and GIS mapping; and permitting assistance and construction oversight.
Environmental Assessment
Understanding the full implications of a project's effect on the surrounding environment before the project begins, and monitoring the project's effects during and after construction, are vital pieces of any project plan. HAI offers full environmental assessment services implementing a broad range of technical expertise. Services range from pre to during to post-project work, from aquifer studies to transportation corridor studies to landfill closures and leaking underground storage tank removal. Such projects can include health and safety plans and sedimentation and erosion control plans.
Geophysics
Projects brought to our Geophysics department benefit from the multidisciplinary expertise offered by HAI’s staff team. HAI’s Geophysics expertise ranges from identifying, analyzing, and delineating contaminated and non-contaminated water-bearing bedrock and sand and gravel aquifers, complete comprehensive review and interpretation of electromagnetic and geophysical data, source-water exploration and development, to GIS technologies. HAI’s team approach to geophysical management plans ensures technically advanced, high-quality results.
Management and Permitting
Project management and permitting assistance are important aspects of HAI’s consulting services, as either a complement to completed design or planning projects or as a separate contract. HAI is well known as a leader in project management and permitting, and the staff team is experienced in all aspects of management and permitting, for both large and small projects. From construction management to permitting to management of planning processes, from full project management to project assistance, HAI offers the client a complete range of professional management and permitting skills and a large network of technical and professional support.
Geographic Information Systems
State-of-the–art equipment and technical expertise allow HAI to conduct in-depth research and gather comprehensive data. Geologic, geophysical, hydrologic, and environmental resources are investigated thoroughly and accurate information is compiled. Projects such as 3-D subsurface mapping, bathymetric lake mapping, contaminant plume mapping, and wetland delineation and mapping are successfully completed by HAI’s professional staff using current information technologies.
